Our goal is to mobilize the movement of money within communities between producers and consumers. Your philanthropic investment or gift will help Slow Money Hawaii borrowers. Your funds will impact not just a farmer or food entrepreneur, but the bigger picture of food security and the preservation of valuable agricultural lands by fostering a new generation of farmers who will work them. Supporting local farmers who use regenerative farming techniques also promotes carbon capture in the soil and minimizes the distance food travels to the table, lowering its carbon footprint.
Gifts to The 'ĀINA Fund may be used as supplemental or matching funds to those provided by individual lenders. While Slow Money Hawaii is primarily a volunteer effort, a some funds are needed to cover modest administrative expenses such as our website presence, printing and supplies, and occasional professional or legal services. You tell us how you want your funds to be used.
Donations to Slow Money Hawaii are tax deductible. We operate under the IRS non-profit 501 (c) 3 designation of our fiscal sponsor, North Shore Economic Vitality Partnership (https://nsevp.org/). North Shore EVP supports and strengthens small farmers throughout the State by providing food safety training and certification, and other essential support services.
